A current NXT champion has revealed that they are ready but in no rush to be called up to the WWE main roster.
Having signed with WWE in August 2021, Tatum Paxley is current in her first reign as NXT Women’s North American Champion.
A former NXT Women’s Champion, Paxley recently addressed the possibility of a move to the main WWE roster.
On a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark, Paxley would reveal that she feels ready, but has faith in those involved in the call-up process.
When asked by Bully Ray if she’s ready for a call from Raw GM Adam Pearce or SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, Paxley responded:
“1000% (ready), but I’m also in zero rush. I’m in no rush to get there. I am not in any rush, I swear.
“This is something I’ve learned from being in NXT, that timing is everything. Like I said, my career was a little bit of a slow start, but I would have not have wanted that to change at all, especially looking back on it now.
“If you were to go back in time and ask me, I would’ve been like, I wish this and I wish that, but gosh, looking back on it now, timing is everything, and I trust in them, the writers and everybody, I trust in them so much that I know when they’re ready to give me the ball to run… I trust their timing. ‘Okay, it’s Tatum’s turn, catch!’ ‘Thanks,’ and I’ll take off.
“Whenever Raw or SmackDown is ready to toss me that ball, I’m catching it, and I’m sprinting. My goals, it’s going to remain the same, I’ve said this every time this has been asked, and I believe it’s going to be my goal for the rest of my career, it’s just to keep connecting with the audience. I feel like I’ve done a good job with that here, now that NXT is hitting the road a little more, I can test that when I go to Houston next week.
“With Raw and SmackDown, it’s just going to be a bigger audience to test, can I connect to these people as well? That will be my goal once I get up there, but I’m in zero rush, I’ve got to take care of Izzi right now, that’s where my focus is.”
