Top Free Agent Teases Rumored WWE Move? WWE

A top free agent appears to have teased a WWE move, with his final match with his now-former promotion now in the books.

NJPW confirmed the departure of Jeff Cobb on Monday (April 14), revealing that his final appearance for the promotion would be on Saturday.

Cobb stepped into a NJPW ring for the last time at the Road To Wrestling Dontaku show, where he faced off against Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The two stars embraced in the ring after Tanahashi’s win, which you can view in the video clip below.

Cobb shared a final message about his departure on Twitter which has fuelled speculation about his next move.

Sharing a photo of himself in a NJPW ring, Cobb wrote:

Then, now, forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

With “then, now, forever” being a tagline WWE has used since 2011, many have interpreted Cobb’s caption as a nod to his expected next destination.

This comes after Fightful reporting on March 13 that Cobb – who was referred to in the report as a free agent – is a star WWE had their eye on.

A later report from Dave Meltzer indicated that there have been contract talks between Cobb and WWE, with no confirmation of a deal.
