Top WWE Star Apologizes To Tag Team Partner After ‘Scrapped’ Match WWE

Former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens has thanked and apologized to his potential tag team partner Ricky Gibson.

On the September 13 Season Premiere edition of SmackDown, Kevin Owens was scheduled to team with a mystery partner to face A Town Down Under.

To open the bout, it looked like Owens was set to team with a debuting independent talent known as “Ricky” before it was revealed Randy Orton was in the arena to tag with KO.

This led to Owens delivering a Stunner to “Ricky” before going on to pick up the win alongside Orton over Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

On September 14, Kevin Owens took to social media to thank and apologize to “Ricky” for what happened on SmackDown. He wrote:

Thank you (and sorry!) @rockinrickyg

“Ricky” is an independent wrestler named Ricky Gibson, who is one half of the tag team, Midnight Heat.
