WWE Star The Miz Explains Wrestling Terminology – Definitions Of ‘Babyface’, ‘Heel’ & ‘Over’ WWE

Two-time WWE Champion The Miz has explained the definitions of three very important and well-used wrestling terms.

Miz was recently doing the rounds in Las Vegas ahead of WrestleMania 42 taking place there at Allegiant Stadium in 2026 for the second consecutive year.

In an interview with Vegas Revealed inside Allegiant Stadium itself, Miz was asked to explain three wrestling terms – he chose ‘babyface,’ heel,’ and ‘over.’

He explained each of them as follows:

Babyface – “The good guy. He does everything right. He’s the nicest guy. He’s the person that you will hear everyone in these stands cheering for, going, ‘We love you, we love you.'”

Heel – “When I come into this stadium, people are always booing me. Telling me that I’m egotistical and arrogant, that I cheat to win. I like to think that I do whatever it takes to win. I don’t always go by the rules, but I make sure that I’m victorious, because that’s what people remember. People remember who wins, they don’t remember who loses.”

Over – “A reaction from the crowd – whether it’s booing or cheering, you get the loudest reaction. So when a person walks out and there’s crickets, and you don’t see or hear anything, that’s not being over. That’s like, ‘We’ve got a problem here.’ But if you walk out and that crowd erupts, ‘Oh, this guy’s over, or this girl’s over.’ So you can start being like, whenever someone walks out and you hear a big reaction, you can look over and go, ‘They’re over.'”
