The 36th season of The Simpsons premieres on September 29, 2024, on FOX with 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena appearing on the episode “Bart’s Birthday.”
The series, which debuted in December 1989, has had a long history with wrestling through a number of its characters including Dr. Bonebreak, Shrieking Sheik, Dr Hillbilly and the Iron Yuppie, among others.
The Shrieking Sheik wouldn’t be seen on screen but would feature when Bret “The Hitman” Hart bought Burns Manor in The Old Man and Lisa.
Now joining Hart as a real-life wrestler appearing in The Simpsons is John Cena with the official Twitter account sharing a first look.
As can be seen in the image below, Cena is certainly an imposing figure as he enters a shop.
Cena announced that 2025 will be his retirement tour year in WWE as he calls time on his in-ring career.
With Cena promising that he will be a presence from January to December next year, CM Punk has named the WWE star he wants to see in the final match.
