Title Change In WWE Confirmed WWE

A WWE championship has now officially changed hands, amid major news surrounding the now-former champion’s future.

Friday’s June 14 edition of WWE Speed saw Andrade challenge for Ricochet’s WWE Speed Championship.

Andrade was ultimately victorious, pinning Ricochet after four minutes of action to become the second ever Speed Champion.

This title match was previously filmed ahead of the June 7 SmackDown taping.

You can watch the full match below.

Triple H has since taken to Twitter to celebrate Andrade’s title win, sharing a photo with the new champion, with the caption:

Congratulations to @AndradeElIdolo on capturing the WWE Speed Championship and ushering in the next chapter of #WWESpeed. Now, we just need to find his first challenger…

It was reported a few days after the match was taped that Ricochet had given notice to WWE that he will leave the company when his current contract expires this summer.

Ricochet was seemingly written off WWE TV on the June 10 edition of Raw, getting slammed through a car’s windshield in a backstage brawl with Bron Breakker, and being taken away in an ambulance.

An anonymous WWE star has reacted to this angle, which you can read more about right here.
