WWE CCO Triple H has addressed the title change that took place on the June 27 SmackDown episode, ahead of Night of Champions.
Ahead of Saturday’s premium live event in the same arena, WWE SmackDown emanated from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During this show, Giulia challenged for Zelina Vega’s WWE Women’s United States Championship.
The Japanese star was ultimately victorious, winning championship gold in her third match on SmackDown.
Triple H has taken to Twitter to share a photo and video of him with the new champion, which you can view below.
Congratulating Giulia, he wrote:
“She’s taken SmackDown by storm, and now has the gold to prove it…
“Congratulations Giulia”
Giulia is now the third-ever WWE Women’s US Champion. Chelsea Green was the first, becoming the inaugural champion in December 2024, before Zelina Vega beat her for the gold on the April 25 SmackDown episode.
This title win marks the beginning of Giulia’s second championship reign in WWE, with the SmackDown star previously holding the NXT Women’s Championship for 63 days earlier this year.
