Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre of the Unholy Union have commented on their plans as champions following their Women’s Tag Team Championship win.
The teams of Dawn & Fyre and Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark challenged for Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill’s women’s tag team gold at Saturday’s (June 16) Clash at the Castle event.
In a result which surprised many, Dawn and Fyre won the gold in front of fans in their home country.
During the post-show press conference, Isla Dawn hinted that they plan to defend the gold on NXT, naming Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx as potential challengers.
Dawn noted:
“When we had the NXT tag titles, we just wanted to make the tag division special. We wanted to make sure that it was on PLEs.
Dawn said on the Clash at the Castle post-show press conference.
“Jade (Cargill) and Bianca (Belair) have been such a big part of making (it strong). We want to just follow their lead, have big matches, get on the PLEs, be wrestling all of the women. We want to take this (everywhere). If we can go to NXT and we can get like Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx, people like that down there.
“So if we can go to NXT, if we can be on Raw, be on SmackDown, we want to just be representing these as best as possible and carrying on that lineage from Jade and Bianca and all the way back from everyone who’s held these.”
NXT previously had its own set of women’s tag team titles, which were unified with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship in June 2023. Interestingly, The Unholy Union were the final set of NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Dawn and Fyre ended Belair and Cargill’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Title reign after just 42 days.
