It has been reported by PWInsider that WWE is considering changing the name of the WWE UK Championship. If the name is changed, it will likely be to NXT UK Championship.
This would be done to keep the title more in line with the other titles on the brand. Currently it is the only title in NXT UK without NXT in the name. The NXT UK Women’s Championship and the NXT UK Tag Team Championships both share the name of their brand.
The WWE UK Championship was created prior to the launch of the NXT UK brand. Now, it appears that the company will be rectifying the name of the main title on the show.
The title is currently held by WALTER. He won the championship from Pete Dunne at NXT Takeover: New York last April.
