WWE/TNA Wrestling
The TNA Wrestling President has addressed their X Division Champion, Leon Slater, wrestling at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The December 13 special saw members of the main roster take on NXT stars in a series of exhibition matches on a show that featured the final match in John Cena’s career.
It wasn’t just NXT stars being featured, however, with TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater teaming with Je’Von Evans.
Slater, who is no stranger to NXT fans, made his debut on a main roster WWE show, facing AJ Styles and Dragon Lee in what would be a losing effort.
TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has since sent his thanks to Triple H in a tweet that reads:
“Thank you, Triple H. TNA honored to be part of tonight.”
With footage emerging of the post-match show of respect from Styles and Lee towards Slater and Evans, Silva would follow up with a tweet of his own about the future of TNA Wrestling and NXT, stating:
“The future is bright with @wwenxt and @ThisIsTNA.”
Ahead of the match, Slater opened up about the challenge that lay ahead, calling it a “very, very surreal” and reflecting on the praise he received from AJ Styles at Slammiversary earlier this year.
Triple H has also recently commented on the future of NXT stars following WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
