TNA Wrestling and WWE have commented on the second NXT star to hold championship gold under their ongoing partnership.
TNA Slammiversary took place on July 20 and saw Trick Williams retain the World Championship against Joe Hendry and Mike Santana.
The show also saw Jacy Jayne become a double champion as she defeated TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich.
Alongside this championship, Jayne is the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, with that title being on the line at Slammiversary.
TNA Wrestling commented on the history-making moment for Jayne, reflected on the partnership with WWE, stating:
“NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne made history when she defeated Masha Slamovich to capture the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
“With this victory, Jayne becomes the first double champion in the groundbreaking partnership between TNA and WWE.”
This wasn’t the only history making moment at TNA Slammiversary, with Leon Slater becoming the youngest star to hold the X Division Championship, a topic that AJ Styles would comment upon in his return to the company last night.
The official WWE NXT Twitter account would also comment on Jayne’s victory in a message that read:
“History.
“#WWENXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne is the NEW @ThisIsTNA Knockouts World Champion!”
TNA Wrestling and WWE announced a multi-year partnership in January 2025, having had a working relationship throughout the previous year.
