WWE/TNA
Following the match’s announcement on Saturday, the official line-ups for the Team WWE NXT and Team TNA Wrestling Steel Cage Match have been confirmed.
At TNA’s Final Resolution pay-per-view on Friday, December 5, TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella was struck by his own son-in-law Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo after the NXT star defeated Steve Maclin to become the new TNA International Champion.
In response to this and WWE NXT’s recent invasion of TNA over the past month, an irate Marella announced that WWE NXT & TNA would go to war inside a Steel Cage on the December 18 episode of Impact.
Now, just over a week until the match takes place, TNA have announced the official line-ups for both teams via social media.
Firstly, Team TNA will consist of former TNA World Champion Mike Santana, who teased his involvement after Santino’s announcement of the match, as well as Steve Maclin, Matt Cardona and reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardy Boyz.
Team NXT will consist of Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson Dupont, Brooks Jensen and Lexis King – five stars who have been at the center of NXT’s invasion of TNA.
Away from the NXT vs. TNA conflict, it was confirmed during WWE Raw that TNA’s Leon Slater will compete on the same card as John Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event – click here for the company’s statement following the announcement.
