WWE Told To Close Down Prior To Essential Business Order

It was recently revealed that WWE was deemed an essential business in Florida. It was a move that has baffled and angered many, but now it has been revealed that the promotion had been ordered to close down beforehand.

.@OrangeCoSheriff was called again yesterday (April 13) regarding the live Monday Night Raw taping, but at that point, the new Executive Order signed April 9 allowed for #WWE to operate as an essential business.

Stephanie Coueignoux and Jon Alba of Spectrum News 13 and Spectrum Sports 360 are now reported that WWE was told to close the Performance Center multiple times. They have said that the Orange County Sherrif was called to the Performance Center on more than one occasion and WWE was not in compliance with the stay-at-home order.

WWE had been running live shows in April before being forced to tape WrestleMania 36 and Raw.

This was before WWE was added to the list of essential businesses in Florida. The move has allowed the promotion to continue to gather and film live shows. The most recent episodes of Raw and SmackDown were both aired live.

It has also been reported that Linda McMahon’s Super PAC committed approximately $20 million to the state of Florida the day the decision was made. Well, wouldn’t you know who won the pony.
