On tonight’s WWE Raw, a new tournament was announced to determine who would be the next to earn a championship match.
In a backstage segment, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce told Finn Balor that he would not be getting a rematch against Damian Priest.
Rather, there would be a new tournament starting tonight on Raw to determine who would face Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championship.
The first match of the tournament occurred on tonight’s Raw featuring Akira Tozawa and Otis losing a match against the returning War Raiders.
The War Raiders were back to their old name and new music as they had their first match in another of months and advanced in the tournament.
Two more matches in the tournament were revealed by the end of WWE Raw with The New Day set to take on Authors of Pain on next week’s show.
Also next week, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio will tag together to face the American Made team of Julius and Brutus Creed.
There has not been a more detailed bracket for the tournament revealed at time of writing.
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh won the World Tag Team Championship back in June from the Awesome Truth team of R-Truth and The Miz.
