WWE Abandons Trademark Pursuit For Top Star

WWE Abandons Trademark Pursuit For Top Star WWE

Ahead of her contract expiration, WWE has abandoned their trademark pursuit for former Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch.

Becky Lynch’s WWE contract status has been the topic of discussion among the wrestling community since “The Man” confirmed her deal is coming up soon.

Ahead of her contract expiring, WWE filed paperwork to abandon the trademark for Lynch’s “Big Time Becks” nickname on May 24.

Returning at SummerSlam 2021, Lynch turned heel and started to be referred to as “Big Time Becks.”

WWE originally filed for the trademark of the nickname in September 2021, but was opposed nine days after the filing.

Legal proceedings were ongoing as recently as April 1, according to public records. A discovery conference was ordered in March with James K. Duck, who has a trademark on “Bigtime” in relation to wrestling, opposing the filing.

Becky Lynch last wrestled in a loss to Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship at King And Queen of the Ring 2024.

WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Becky Lynch’s WWE status when they become available.
