WWE Files Trademark On Debuting Star’s Ring Name WWE

WWE has filed the trademark on a newly debuting star’s ring name following their recent surprise debut on television.

Former MLW World Champion Jacob Fatu made his debut for WWE on last night’s SmackDown show two months after signing with the company.

Fatu officially joined the Bloodline, laying waste to Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton upon his surprise arrival to the blue brand.

Prior to his debut, WWE had filed to trademark the name ‘Caesar Sikoa’, which fans speculated could be for Jacob, but with Jacob arriving under his former name, that seems to no longer be the case.

Following his debut, WWE has now filed the trademark on the name Jacob Fatu, per the USPTO, confirming he will remain using that name going forward.

The description on the filing reads:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

A WWE star has reacted to Fatu’s debut, noting that SmackDown is in ‘deep s**t’ following is arrival.
