WWE Confirms Name Change With Trademark Filing WWE

WWE has filed to trademark a tag-team’s name following their name change, per the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

On Thursday (October 17) WWE filed an application with the USPTO to trademark “THE WAR RAIDERS”.

The filing indicates that WWE intends for this trademark to cover use surrounding “entertainment services”.

The following description accompanied the filing:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service;

providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members;

organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

The War Raiders consist of Ivar and Erik, who both made their in-ring returns on Monday’s edition of Raw (taped October 7). They previously went by the Viking Raiders on the main roster, but have now brought back their NXT tag-team name.
