Former AEW star Ricky Starks is now in the WWE with a new name – Ricky Saints – that has now had a trademark application filed for it.
The new name was revealed on February 18, 2025, during Starks’ contract signing on WWE NXT.
On February 19, 2025, WWE filed a trademark application for the term ‘Ricky Saints‘ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The Goods and Services category for the application covers “entertainment services” and is described as:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”
Following criticism of the name change, the newly-christened Ricky Saints noted it would take fans a while to get used to it.
He would also say that he wants to pay respect to his New Orleans heritage, saying that he thinks it’s “the best of both worlds.”
With WrestleMania 42 rumored to be taking place in New Orleans, Saints has set out his plans to be on the main roster WWE PLE in 2026.
The February 25 episode of WWE NXT will see Saints have his first match under his new contract (and name) teaming with Je-Von Evans to take on Ethan Page and Wes Lee.
The Ricky Saints trademark application wasn’t the only one of note with a new show seemingly being hinted at in a recent filing.
