WWE Trademarks Term ‘Queens Crown Tournament’

We appear to know the official name of the rumoured upcoming ‘Queen of the Ring’ tournament that WWE will be running soon.

Per the United States Patent and Trademark Office, WWE filed to trademark the term ‘Queens Crown Tournament’ on August 27, which very much sounds like the name for Queen of the Ring, don’t you think?

The official description reads as followed:

Mark For: QUEENS CROWN TOURNAMENT trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information

Elsewhere, WWE also filed to trademark the new logo for NXT, with the following description:

The mark consists of the letters “N”, “X”, “T” with a mix of colors within the outline of each letter.

Mark For: NXT trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.
