WWE Going To Trial Over Traffic Accident Lawsuit

WWE Going To Trial Over Traffic Accident Lawsuit WWE

WWE is set to go to jury trial on February 27, 2023 regarding a lawsuit filed against the company back in June 2021.

Jackson Parsons filed the lawsuit against WWE, alleging that on July 22, 2019, he was riding his bicycle when he was involved in an accident with a van that had been rented by WWE, being driven by WWE employee Gaitan Thomas, who was allegedly “on the job at the time”.

Thomas is a props expert for WWE and WWE has listed him as an “independent contractor engaged by the company” in legal documents.

In the lawsuit, Parsons claimed he suffered permanent issues, namely “physical injuries, pain-and-suffering, disability and the inability and loss of the capacity to lead and enjoy normal life, inconvenience, disfigurement, scarring and mental anguish” as a result of the incident.

He also stated that he incurred past medical expenses and will continue to incur future medical expenses because of the accident, as well as “a loss of earnings and earning capacity, both in the past and in the future”.

Parsons stated his past medical expenses are $171,430.38, and projected future medical expenses to be $314,850.

The suit also projects Parson’ loss of earnings to be $75,036–$100,048.

He’s also seeking an additional $76,500 for “pain and suffering, mental anguish and inconvenience”, as well as another $401,500 for future pain and suffering.

In December 2020, Parsons demanded a settlement of $1,064,328,38, which didn’t happen.

There’s a pre-trial hearing scheduled on Wednesday, February 22 before the trial begins on February 27.
