A WWE star will be defending another company’s championship at an upcoming event, and their opponent has now been revealed.
Since NXT Battleground on May 25, WWE’s Trick Williams has been TNA World Champion, defeating Joe Hendry for the title.
Having recently retained the championship at TNA Slammiversary, with Hendry and Mike Santana unable to dethrone the champion, the WWE star’s next opponent has now been named.
With TNA Emergence taking place on August 15 at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Williams will be in action, defending his TNA World Championship against Moose.
As can be seen below this news story, the official announcement reads:
“BREAKING: @WWENXT’s @_trickwilliams defends the TNA World Championship against @TheMooseNation on Friday, August 15 at #TNAEmergence streaming LIVE on TNA+ from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, MD.”
Moose is a two-time World Champion and recently lost the X Division Championship to Leon Slater.
As the youngest X Division Champion, Slater will also be in action, defending the title against Cedric Alexander.
Also teased for the August 15 show is an opponent for Mike Santana, with Sami Callihan making it clear that he would retire if he’s unable to beat the star at Emergence.
