WWE In ‘Tricky Situation’ Over Charlotte Flair Incident

WWE In ‘Tricky Situation’ Over Charlotte Flair Incident

The situation involving Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch from this week’s episode of SmackDown (October 22) has been the hot topic among the wrestling world over the weekend.

Dave Meltzer added a brief word about Charlotte on the Wrestling Observer website, stating that a source said to him that ‘It’s a tricky situation, isn’t it? Does WWE just hand her over to AEW?’ The source also noted that if WWE was to discipline her, then they would have to do the same to others over their backstage behaviour, noting that ‘They have their hands full with this situation.’

Wade Keller from PWTorch noted over the weekend that the feeling is that Flair feels like she can get away with her behaviour as she brings star power to the SmackDown roster, and that since FOX requested for her to be drafted to the show, pulling her from TV may not go over well.

Keller also noted that Flair’s issue with Becky is not the only issue she has had, and that the locker room is overwhelmingly on Becky’s side, even seeing her as a ‘hero’ for stepping up to Charlotte’s antics.

Meltzer notes that the impression he was given was that Andrade El Idolo’s Tweet aimed towards WWE was in response to the situation at SmackDown.

While WWE has yet to publicly commented on the situation, they did edit the footage of Charlotte dropping the Raw Women’s title out of the encore broadcast of SmackDown on Saturday night.
