Triple H Addresses Former WWE Champion Officially Retiring WWE

Triple H has addressed the recent retirement of a former WWE champion after their multi-decade in-ring career came to an end.

A former WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion, Meiko Satomura’s retirement match took place on April 29, 2025.

At the iconic Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, Satomura teamed with Manami to take on the team of Aja Kong and Chihiro Hashimoto

Triple H has now shared his thoughts on Satomura’s career coming to an end after thirty years.

Taking to Twitter, the WWE Chief Content Officer congratulated Satomura, tweeting:

“Congratulations to the Japanese wrestling legend and former @WWENXT UK Women’s Champion, Meiko Satomura.

“Your contributions to this industry have inspired a generation of female athletes around the world.”

Satomura signed with WWE in October 2020 having been a participant in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

She would work in NXT UK as a wrestler and coach before transitioning to NXT itself in August 2022.

Her final match took place at Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling and saw Satomura and Manami victorious over their opponents, with Kenta Kobashi presenting a bouquet of flowers to the retiring star before the match.

Satomura was the final NXT UK Women’s Champion before the title was unified with the NXT Women’s Championship at Worlds Collide in 2022.
