WWE CCO Triple H has reacted to Stephen A Smith ranking Goldberg as his top wrestler of all time when listing his top five.
Ahead of the WWE Wrestlepalooza debut on ESPN tomorrow, HHH appeared on ESPN‘s First Take, hosted by Stephen A Smith.
Smith ranked The Road Warriors at number five, noting them as his favorite tag team ever.
He then listed The Rock at number four, Hulk Hogan at three, and Ric Flair at two.
Then, he revealed his number one top pick for the greatest wrestler of all time – Goldberg.
Triple H responded:
“Let me break this down for you. What he does for a profession is piss people off, right? That’s what he does. So what he did is he bait and switched you.
“He set up a list that is arguably accurate – Road Warriors, The Rock, Hogan, Flair. He left out a few because it’s just a top five.
“But then what he does is he comes in, and he Stephen A’s it, and he goes, Goldberg at number one. Because he knows that is the name that is gonna piss off the maximum amount of people.
“I’m not gonna say he’s not great. I love Bill. I think he was a great performer, had great moments in this business. But putting him at one? Come on!”

Goldberg had his WWE retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event this past July against Goldberg, but was very critical afterwards of how WWE handled it, as his retirement speech was cut off after about 30 seconds.
