Triple H Had Backstage Brawl With Future WWE Hall Of Famer

A recent documentary has revealed that Triple H had a backstage locker room brawl with a future two-time WWE Hall of Famer.

On the DX episode of Biography, Triple H recounted the story, saying:

“After he takes his time off, just intermittent in and out of Shawn, but he’s still a mess.

“We were nowhere near as close as we were before. There comes a moment where it’s getting worse and worse and it’s the night that Vince buys WCW.

“We all go into an office to watch this go down. Just as it’s about to happen, in walks Shawn, who is just a mess, it’s just embarrassing.

“Everybody else goes to Vince, ’embarrassing, he shouldn’t be here.’ Shawn comes out of that conversation and in front of everybody in that locker room, we went at it.”

Michaels was forced into retirement following a back injury in 1998.

Whilst away from the company, Sportskeeda notes that Michaels had a drug use problem and would attend the March 26 2001 episode of WWE Raw that would see Vince McMahon reveal that he’d purchased WCW, appearing live via satellite from WWE Raw in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sportskeeda would also note that, as a result of the fight, Michaels and Triple H stopped talking for about a year but have revived their friendship over the years, with the first step seeming to be an apology from Michaels to Triple H.

The pair are now both in executive roles in WWE, with Michaels serving as Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative and Triple H being WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
