A WWE source has addressed Triple H’s booking, reflecting on online criticism of the process and the challenges the executive faces.
With WrestleMania 42 taking place next month, Triple H has recently been the subject of ‘internal criticism‘ over the plans for the two-night Premium Live Event.
Triple H’s position as Chief Content Officer was also the topic of a comment from an unnamed WWE source in the recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
According to Dave Meltzer, the source stated it was ‘tough playing babyface booker, the ultra-wise manipulator behind the scenes’, before going into further detail on Triple H’s creative role, writing:
“One person in the company noted at this point in time, it’s tough playing babyface booker, the ultra-wise manipulator behind the scenes.
“It was noted how tough it is with an online community that is critical. It was noted that you have to be able to decipher the true criticism from those who just like to criticize everything you do, saying it’s bad with zero concept of whether it is or not or of business.
“It was noted that things would be better, and there would be less direction changing and second guessing, instead of Levesque trying to be the sage architect, he’d have a much easier time of it and he’d be doing “at least on par with how he was doing before.””
A new lead writer was recently appointed for WWE Raw, with the report noting that Brian “Road Dogg” James has also departed the company.
