WWE Legend Opens Up About ‘Right Moment’ To Come Out Of Retirement WWE

A WWE legend has opened up about coming out of retirement for the “right moment” for WrestleMania 39 on April 1 & 2.

Trish Stratus returned to WWE on the February 27 episode of Raw, siding with Lita and Becky Lynch as they defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky) for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

It would later be announced that Stratus would be joining Lita and Lynch in a six-man tag at WrestleMania 39, taking on all three members of Damage CTRL (Bayley, Kai & Sky).

In an interview with Bleacher Report, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about her decision to return, saying:

“I’ve been speaking with WWE for a little while now about doing a little something because I did the live events.

“There’s always ideas thrown at me. Once they saw me get in there with the girls, it becomes ‘This could be something.’

“I have a great relationship with WWE, so we’ve always talked. ‘Would you come back?’ ‘Yeah, if there’s a right moment.’

“If the right moment is challenging and I can touch another generation and make a difference, that would be great, and those boxes would have to be checked.”

Stratus retired as WWE Women’s Champion in 2007, though would make appearances for WWE in the subsequent years.

She would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2013 and was honored as one of the greatest female superstars on the Raw 25 Years episode in January 2018.

In August 2018, she would team with Lita to face Mickie James and Alicia Fox on the WWE Evolution PPV.

In 2019, she challenged Charlotte Flair in what would be a losing effort for at SummerSlam.

In the same interview, Stratus would reflect upon her match with Flair, calling it a “perfect ending.”
