WWE has named an independent wrestler as the MVP of the SummerSlam 2025 tryouts, potentially revealing a future signing.
As is now tradition, numerous talented prospects took part in this year’s three-day WWE tryout ahead of the SummerSlam premium live event.
While this tryout took place behind closed doors, we now know at least one star who impressed WWE, with WWE awarding them a special accolade.
The WWE Recruit Instagram page announced that Rayne Leverkusen as the WWE SummerSlam Tryout MVP, sharing photos with the caption:
Closing out the #WWE SummerSlam 2025 Tryout with our MVP! 🏆
Congratulations Rayne🤘🏼and great work to all of the athletes who participated this week!
The post also featured a video of WWE Performance Center Head Trainer Matt Bloom awarding Leverkusen this honor.
Noting that this doesn’t necessarily mean Leverkusen is guaranteed a contract, Bloom noted the following about the MVP winner:
“(This is for) someone who just raised the bar and did a really good job at this tryout.
“Now this doesn’t mean that this person is guaranteed a contract, but this person for the last three days stood out, and the staff collectively came up with the winner of this title.
“I’m proud to give this title to the person who claims that metal will never die.”
