More WWE PLEs are set to follow the two-night model that first started with WrestleMania 36 in April 2020.
In that year, WrestleMania 36 took place at the WWE Performance Center and had no fans in attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions in Orlando, Florida.
It was also the first WWE WrestleMania to take place over two nights, on April 4 & 5.
Since then, each WrestleMania has been a two-night event with WWE SummerSlam confirmed to be joining the model in August 2025.
Previously, it was reported that TKO CEO Mark Shapiro believed that two-night WWE PLEs was “a natural evolution“.
We’ve now got an indication as to which PLEs could switch to two nights courtesy of WrestleVotes Radio’s Backstage Pass.
According to JoeyVotes, WWE are considering a shift to two nights for the Royal Rumble with the change coming as soon as 2026.
That’s not the only WWE PLE that is up for consideration, with Money in the Bank being another option for the move.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the shorter, five-match WWE PLEs were expected to continue.
Running across April 6 and 7, WrestleMania 40 had fourteen matches in total, with seven on each night.
By contrast, the last single-night WrestleMania in 2019 had twelve matches excluding the four that were on the pre-show.
