WWE is reportedly “very happy” with the new gimmick that Joe Gacy has adopted since the relaunch of NXT 2.0 last month.
It’s seemed like the gimmick has been poking fun at the ‘woke left’, with Gacy using several trigger words during his promos, the first of which got some mainstream attention.
It was covered in publications like the New York Post and FOX News, after which WWE actually removed all mentions of Gacy and his promo from social media.
However, he returned this past Tuesday with another similar promo, and Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is “very happy” about the attention it’s been getting.
Joe Gacy has only had one match so far since NXT’s relaunch, which was a loss to Cameron Grimes, and is just one of many NXT talents who have been repackaged in recent weeks along with the show itself.
