WWE Star Weight Change Revealed

WWE Star Weight Change Revealed WWE

WWE has made a change to one of its wrestlers’ presentations, that being their billed weight that’s announced before each match.

WWE’s billed weights are fictional numbers, generally a bit higher than the wrestlers’ real weights in order to present them – in a way – as seeming bigger than they actually are.

Last night’s May 29 episode of Raw saw an interesting move, as JD McDonagh’s billed weight has changed.

His match against Dolph Ziggler was his singles Raw debut, meaning it was the first time his weight had been announced on Raw by the ring announcer.

Previously throughout his WWE career though, McDonagh had been announced at 180 pounds.

For whatever reason, billed weights aren’t announced on NXT, but McDonagh was announced at 180 pounds as recently as November when he had a match on Main Event, and his WWE.com profile still lists him as such.

For his Raw singles debut though, the decision was made to give him a little boost, and he was instead billed at 194 pounds.

That still has him under the 200 mark, but it appears WWE has decided him being 194 makes him sounds more threatening than being 180, so it’s a small change but also understandable logic.

McDonagh ended up getting himself disqualified in the match against Ziggler by attacking Ziggler with the steel steps at ringside.

McDonagh was moved to Raw from NXT in the recent WWE Draft about a month ago.
