Current WWE Name Reveals Advice He Gave Will Ospreay In 2022 AEW

New Japan’s Will Ospreay was given advice on how to improve his presentation from a current WWE name in WWE.

Recently, William Regal, who joined AEW in March 2022 before returning to WWE in January 2023, spoke about his interactions with the former IWGP United States Champion.

A guest on Distraction Pieces with Scroobius Pip, Regal revealed:

“I haven’t that much time around Will but he’s always asked me questions when he’s been around me.

“I saw him at AEW earlier this year, the first time he was there. He came out and straight away he came to me and I said “first of all what are you asking me for? You’re as good as you are, why do you need to ask me?”

“No, seriously though, I still think like that. Why are people asking me stuff? Especially when I went there as it wasn’t my job.

“If it’s my job as you come through the curtain, which NXT was, my job is to try to keep your wrestling honest. What I mean by that is to not see through the tricks.”

Regal would go on to explain the advice he offered to Ospreay and the reaction to it, saying:

“Will came out and I said there was only one thing, you did that incredible thing there but you did it facing away from the cameras, so it was great those 4,000 people sat on that side.

“The next time, he was back a few weeks later, and everything he did he did was towards the cameras. I said “you’re as good as it gets.”

Regal would also acknowledge that Ospreay’s strengths have improved with time and life experience and go far beyond just what he does athletically, concluding:

“And now he’s got that face. Will now not only has that incredible skill set, but he has this face that he can just open his eyes a little more, squint his eyes or flair his nostrils and he doesn’t have to do anything [else].

“That’s enough to make you go… on top of everything else he’s got.

If you have a great face, make sure people can see it. If you don’t, keep moving.”

Ospreay made a number of appearances in AEW between June and August 2022, competing in singles matches and alongside Aussie Open as United Empire (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis).

United Empire would also feature in the AEW World Trios Title Tournament defeating Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo &  Rey Fenix) but coming up short against The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson) in the tournament semi-final.
