With William Regal returning to WWE in early 2023, reports have stated he would be taking a Vice President role in the company.
Whilst there are no official details of the area over which Regal will serve as Vice President, Dave Meltzer has explored this further.
In the current Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Meltzer states:
“Regal will have a Vice President position in WWE when he starts in January, so it’s far more than working as a coach to help train his son.
“If his position involves recruiting, he’s now got a personal coach relationship with a lot of the younger talent in AEW.”
Regal’s son is WWE NXT’s Charlie Dempsey.
Regal has recently broken his silence over the wrestling rumor mill, taking to Twitter to say:
“There’s seems to be a lot of news about me getting spread around.
“There’s enough people who really know me (although they are few as trust is a big issue with me) who know the truth.
“Unless you hear it from me directly it is at best second-hand information.”
Tony Khan had previously confirmed Regal’s departure from AEW whilst speaking on the pre-show media scrum for ROH Final Battle.
