Former AEW star Marko Stunt recently announced his retirement from professional wrestling having made his debut in 2018.
In a social media post, Stunt announced his retirement on November 1, thanking AEW for the chance to showcase his abilities and share his passion with the world.
During a recent appearance with Pluggo of Love Wrestling, Stunt revealed that William Regal had reached out to him following the announcement.
Discussing the message he had received from the WWE Vice President of Global Talent Development, Stunt said:
“William Regal reached out to me after I posted everything and he sent me a long message and I thanked him and everything…
“The last thing he said was, ‘No need to thank me. If there had not been somebody to guide me at 16 years old, I wouldn’t have been able to do the same thing for you. So, pass it along,’ and that’s what I wanna do. That’s what I wanna do…”
Stunt made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing in 2019 and would go on to team with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus as Jurassic Express.
He was released by AEW in June 2022, though made an appearance to face Jack Perry at AEW Collision in July 2024.
Highlights from the match for Perry’s TNT Championship can be seen below this news story.
In his career, Stunt has held the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship in Japan’s DDT Pro-Wrestling and ranked 182 in the 2020 PWI 500.
