First WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament Match Confirmed WWE

The first match of an upcoming tournament to determine the inaugural winner of a new WWE championship has now been revealed.

After Adam Pearce recently unveiled the brand new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, now the Raw GM has made an announcement about the tournament to determine the inaugural winner.

While Pearce had previously noted the tournament was set to begin on December 2, no match was announced at that time.

Taking to social media to post a video detailing what fans can expect from the December 2 WWE Raw, Pearce noted that the tournament’s first three-way match would be Dakota Kai vs Shayna Baszler vs Katana Chance.

The rest of the field has yet to be announced.

Elsewhere set for the show, a tag team match featuring Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane and IYO SKY) against Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.

Also in the video, Pearce confirmed that kicking off the episode of WWE Raw would be an appearance from CM Punk.

CM Punk teamed with Roman Reigns, Jimmy & Jey Uso and Sami Zayn at WWE Survivor Series ‘WarGames’ 2024 to successfully beat the ‘new Bloodline’ team of Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu and Big Bronson Reed.

Reed is expected to be ruled out for at least a few weeks due to injury after that match.
