Following the recent injury to Liv Morgan, the future of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship has been confirmed.
On June 16, Liv Morgan suffered a separated shoulder that led to her requiring surgery, meaning she’ll be out of action for at least a few months.
With Morgan being one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Raquel Rodriguez, her absence led to question marks about what would happen with the championship.
The most expected route was for Roxanne Perez to simply take over as Rodriguez’s tag team partner.
Tonight on WWE Raw, it was announced that will be the case – although there is something of a caveat.
Rodriguez and Perez will team up and will officially remain Women’s Tag Team Champions if they can retain the title in a match at WWE Evolution on July 13.
That match will see them defend the championship in a four-way against a team from Raw, a team from SmackDown, and a team from NXT.
It has not yet been revealed who the other three teams are, but we’ll keep you posted as updates emerge.
