WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk Reflects On Return After 10 Years Away

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk Reflects On Return After 10 Years Away WWE

New World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk has reflected on his return to WWE after nearly 10 years away.

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series in November 2023 after being entirely absent from the company since 2014.

Since his return, he has won the World Heavyweight Championship twice, although his first reign only lasted a few minutes before Seth Rollins cashed in Money in the Bank at SummerSlam.

However, last night at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, Utah, Punk defeated Jey Uso to win the World Heavyweight Title again after Rollins vacated it due to injury.

Appearing on Hockey Night In Utah tonight, Punk was asked what it’s been like returning to WWE after so long away.

He said:

“Every day has been a dream. Every day is gratitude.

“Obviously I love hockey so much I kind of draw the parallels between my wrestling career and hockey, and I’m the old guy in the room now.

“I’m just happy I get to lace up my skates and have the privilege to be able to walk the locker room and the halls with a lot of talented young stars.

“Seeing all the fans, all the places I’ve been all around the world multiple times, getting to revisit stuff and see the young and the old all love wrestling, it’s great.

“It’s been a dream.”
