WWE World Heavyweight Title Match Added To Madison Square Garden SmackDown

A World Heavyweight Championship match has been announced for an upcoming WWE show set to emanate from Madison Square Garden.

During the July 7 SmackDown taping at the world-famous arena, Seth Rollins will defend his gold against Damian Priest of the Judgment Day.

The official Madison Square Garden Twitter account shared the following announcement:

JUST ANNOUNCED! From Monday Night RAW see @WWE World Heavyweight Championship Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Damian Priest!

It wasn’t made clear whether this match will be a dark bout just for fans in the arena, or if it will take place during the special live broadcast.

This bout notably happened on Monday’s (June 5) edition of Raw, with Damian Priest unsuccessfully challenging for Seth Rollins’ gold in Rollins’ first televised title defence.

Rollins previously defeated AJ Styles to win the new title at WWE Night of Champions 2023 on May 27.
