An update on the future of the World Tag Team Championship following the War Raiders’ victory on this week’s Raw show.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh’s reign as the World Tag Team Champions came to an end in the main event of this week’s WWE Raw show, when the War Raiders defeated the Judgment Day duo to win the titles for the second time in their career.

Balor and McDonagh captured the titles from Awesome Truth on Raw back in June, holding the titles for 175 days, though only making two televised defences of the titles in that time, which came with a lot of criticism from fans.

With the titles now changing hands, and Erik and Ivar at the top of the division on Raw, many are hoping the titles will be defended more frequently now.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), the claim internally within the company to Fightful was that the titles would be defended more often under the War Raiders.

The War Raiders first became Raw Tag Team Champions back in 2019, back when they were known as the Viking Raiders.

Ivar recently discussed the possibility of the pair returning to their former names of Hanson and Rowe following their return to the War Raiders name, which you can see here.
