Clarification has emerged on uncertainty surrounding an announcement about a future WrestleMania event.
With WrestleMania 41 set to take place in Las Vegas next April, WrestleMania 42 is the next Show of Shows currently without an announced location.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro appeared to confirm that WrestleMania would be returning to Philadelphia in 2026, with WrestleMania included in a video showing events taking place in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in 2026
This video was deleted from social media, resulting in uncertainty about the upcoming event.
Fightful has now shared a statement received from the Governor’s office, who reached out to Fightful to confirm that indicating that WrestleMania 42 would be in Philadelphia was a mistake.
The statement reads:
“This statement was mistaken, and we apologize for the confusion amid all the incredible events Pennsylvania is excited to host in 2026.
“While WrestleMania won’t be here in ‘26, we look forward to continuing to work with WWE and wrestling fans all across our Commonwealth to bring more great events to PA in the future.”
Comment from Manuel Bonder, Spokesman for Governor Shapiro
WrestleMania 4o notably took place at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania across April 6-7.
WrestleMania 41 is set to emanate from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
