The scrapped plans for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 39 have now been revealed as we head towards the April 1 & 2 event.
With recent news of the lineup for the upcoming two-night show, Dave Meltzer has also revealed the now-abandoned plans for night two of the show, writing:
“Based on the original plans in November, the entire Day two show has changed other than the main event, which was listed as either Reigns vs. Rhodes or Reigns vs. Rock (in which case Rhodes vs. McIntyre vs. Rollins would have been the first night main event to create the second world title).”
WrestlingNews.co had been first to report months ago about the Rhodes/McIntyre/Rollins situation, but it’s interesting to hear that so much other stuff has also changed alongside that.
It was recently reported that Triple H plans to fix Vince McMahon’s “final mess” by splitting up the two WWE Championships by SummerSlam 2023.
With Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns facing each other on Night Two of WrestleMania 39, it has been reported that Reigns could take time off after the April 1 & 2 premium live event.
