Big Change To WWE WrestleMania 41 Championship Match Update WWE

A new update has emerged on a potential big change coming to a championship match announced for WWE WrestleMania 41.

Last week’s March 17 episode of Raw played host to a contract signing for the Mania match between Women’s World Champion IYO SKY and Elimination Chamber winner Bianca Belair.

After SKY and Belair signed the contract, Rhea Ripley came to the ring and laid them both out, adding her own signature to the contract in an attempt to be added to the match to make it a three-way.

Today, General Manager Adam Pearce came out with the same contract in his hand and said it means nothing, and Ripley is not officially in the match.

However, SKY then came to the ring and said she doesn’t care about contracts, and would gladly defend against both Belair and Ripley.

Belair then came out, saying that she doesn’t want Ripley added because she earned her one-on-one title match via winning the Elimination Chamber, so it would be unfair on her for Ripley to be added.

Unsurprisingly, Ripley also then came out and got in a confrontation with Belair, with SKY once again clearly being made to look like a third wheel.

Adam Pearce then did make an announcement – on next week’s WWE Raw, Ripley will challenge SKY for the Women’s World Championship.

In theory, the winner of that will then be the one that defends against Belair at Mania.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on what the plans are for the eventual Mania match, but despite the announcement today and its stipulation, there are obviously still ways of getting around it to make the Mania match a three-way after all.

UPDATE: It was later announced that Belair will be the special guest referee for next week’s Ripley vs SKY match.
