WWE Star Shares Honest Thoughts On Being Left Off WrestleMania 41 WWE

Angelo Dawkins has addressed the Street Profits not defending the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 41.

It was previously reported that there had been some uncertainty surrounding whether the planned Street Profits vs Motor City Machine Guns match would take place on WrestleMania 41 or SmackDown.

With this match ultimately announced for the April 18 go-home edition of SmackDown, Dawkins has shared his true thoughts on not competing on the Grandest Stage of them All.

Speaking on the It Is What It Is podcast, Dawkins expressed a similar sentiment to the name of the podcast, noting that sometimes you have to play your role.

Discussing his WWE WrestleMania 41 week role, Dawkins said:

“I’d be lying if I said ‘I want to ride the pine’ but sometimes you gotta play your role, you gotta ride the bench sometimes. But you know what? We’re on SmackDown, we’re defending the titles.”

The tag title assigned to the Raw brand – the WWE World Tag Team Championship – will be defended at WrestleMania 41, with The New Day challenging for the War Raiders’ gold.

The Street Profits won the WWE Tag Team Championship on the March 14 SmackDown episode, defeating Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of DIY for the title.
