WWE stars Naomi and Jade Cargill will have a historic match at WrestleMania 41, with their bout to end an almost 20 year drought.
As was confirmed on the April 4 SmackDown episode, Naomi and Cargill will get the opportunity to settle their differences on the Grandest Stage of them All.
Not only will this bout be both Cargill and Naomi’s first one-on-one match at WrestleMania, the match has added significance for WWE as a whole.
Naomi vs Cargill is set to be the first non-title women’s match to take place at a WrestleMania event in 19 years.
Not only that, it will be the first non-title, non-stipulation women’s match to take place at WrestleMania ever.
Currently, the most recent WrestleMania women’s match not for a championship took place at WrestleMania 22 in 2006, with Torrie Wilson facing Candice Michelle in a Playboy Pillow Fight.
Prior to that, Terri Runnels and The Kat met in a Catfight at WrestleMania 16 in 2000.
Other women’s matches currently announced for WrestleMania 41 include Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Title, and IYO SKY vs Bianca Belair for the Women’s World Title.
