Following his return on WWE Raw on Netflix premiere, a new report has revealed the planned WWE WrestleMania 41 opponent for John Cena.
On the January 6 WWE Raw on Netflix debut, John Cena made his return to kickstart his 2025 retirement tour.
During his promo, Cena revealed that he would be entering the Royal Rumble to go to WrestleMania 41 to win his 17th world championship.
This followed recent reports that have indicated that Cena has been discussed to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Mania.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is reportedly scheduled to face John Cena at WrestleMania 41.
The report reads:
“While they didn’t directly tease Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena for the WWE title, they all but told you that Cena going for his record-breaking 17th world title (Ric Flair’s name was not mentioned) would be at Mania. Rhodes is the scheduled opponent at this point.”
It remains to be seen how John Cena will earn this potential WrestleMania 41 title shot at the time of this writing, as he has teased winning both the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber.
