A WWE star has addressed fans who may have felt less than satisfied by their match at WrestleMania 41 on April 20.
WrestleMania 41 saw Cody Rhodes lose the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena, giving the retiring star a record-breaking win.
During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Rhodes addressed criticism of the match and set out his ambition for WWE SummerSlam on August 2 & 3.
With Rhodes now set to challenge for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, the King of the Ring winner stated he wanted to get the critics “over the finish line” at the upcoming Premium Live Event, explaining:
“SummerSlam, I don’t wanna go as far as making any promises, but I can tell you the goal with SummerSlam is if people felt a certain way about WrestleMania, I will put that all on my back and take all the credit and responsibility for perhaps not feeling satisfied.
“I’d like to get ‘em to the finish line with SummerSlam. Very much looking forward to doing this dance again.”
John Cena defeated CM Punk to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions on June 28.
The show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia also saw Rhodes overcome Randy Orton to win the King of the Ring tournament final.
