WWE WrestleMania 42 Main Event Matches Major Update WWE

A major update on the matches seemingly set to main event both nights of this year’s WWE WrestleMania 42 event next month.

Back in January, Roman Reigns won the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match, earning him a shot at either the World Heavyweight Championship or Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Roman wouldn’t take long to make his decision, immediately choosing CM Punk and the World Heavyweight Championship two nights later on Raw, seemingly setting up one of the WrestleMania 42 main events.

There had been questions about what other match would main event the show, and following Randy Orton’s Elimination Chamber victory, it seems any speculations can now be put to rest.

Orton opened up tonight’s SmackDown show, where he discussed his 20 prior WrestleMania appearances, and how he has only main evented twice in his career, proving that opportunities to main event WrestleMania are hard to come by.

Orton would then say that, after his Elimination Chamber victory, this year he secured his third WrestleMania main event appearance, seemingly confirming that his Undisputed WWE Championship match will close one of the nights of WrestleMania this year.

Who Orton faces at WrestleMania is not yet confirmed, with an Undisputed WWE Championship main event between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes taking place tonight.
