The opening matches for both nights of WWE WrestleMania 42 on April 18 & 19 have now been confirmed, along with how to watch them.
With WrestleMania 42 fast approaching, the full list for the matches taking place on Saturday and Sunday was recently revealed.
ESPN viewers will be able to catch the opening matches for both nights, with the first hour of Saturday airing on ESPN2 and the first hour of Sunday airing on ESPN.
Saturday night sees the first hour feature the Unsanctioned Match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, along with the 6-Man Tag Team Match between LA Knight & The Usos and Austin Theory, Logan Paul & IShowSpeeds air on ESPN2.
Sunday night sees Brock Lesnar take on Oba Femi, and the Intercontinental Championship Ladder match take place in the first hour over on ESPN.
The Night One main event will be Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton (with Pat McAfee).
On Night Two, the main event will be CM Punk defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns.
WrestleMania 42 streams on the ESPN App over in the United States, with all the action coming live from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Internationally, viewers will be able to catch both nights of WrestleMania 42 on Netflix, with the show starting at 6pM ET/ 3PM PT on both days.
Paying The Price For WWE WrestleMania 42
With reports of lower-than-expected ticket sales for the April 18 & 19 WWE Premium Live Event, even CM Punk called for the price to be reduced on last night’s episode of Raw.
It’ll be interesting to see if a lower price, less than two weeks from the major PLE, causes a sudden rush in ticket sales, but looking ahead to future events, it may undo some of the bad taste that has been left in the mouth of many potential attendees.
Back in September of last year, PW Insider reported that Section A1 on Floor would set a fan back $8,998.00 for a seat, while those in the 400 Section could expect to pay $854.15.
Ticket prices had dropped since then, at a point where under 40,000 tickets had been sold for each night, and an option to sit atop the WrestleMania 42 set was announced.
For comparison, WWE WrestleMania 41, also at the Allegiant Stadium, was reportedly “drew 124,693 fans across two nights” last year.
