A potential host for a future WWE WrestleMania has been revealed following the approval of a multi-million dollar development fund.
While the location of WrestleMania 42 has been confirmed as New Orleans in April 2026, Orange County Commissioners are looking ahead to the 2031 WWE schedule.
According to Orlando Business Journal, $18M has been approved for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to “draw four future events from the WWE and UFC – including WrestleMania in 2031.”
Greater Orlando Sports Commission President & CEO Jason Siegel stated that the funds are part of a package to pursue events that:
“May include about 10 to 12 shows at both the Kia Center and Camping World Stadium.”
The total show number wouldn’t be just WWE and UFC related, with the complete approval of funds sitting at $29.46M in “tourist development tax sports incentive funds related to five requests.”
$11M of the approved funds would go to Florida Citrus Sports for Camping World Stadium to “serve as the temporary home” for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2027.
The Jacksonville Jaguars has AEW’s Tony Khan serving as Executive Vice President of Football Operations and Chief Football Strategy Officer, with his father, Shahid Khan, being the owner.
Speaking on the plans to attract WWE to Orlando, Siegel acknowledged that the commission is “in the process of bidding on the events”, going on to note:
“WWE is in conversation with roughly two dozen other cities on various events.”
At the time of writing, the identify of the other cities is unknown, although WrestleTalk will continue to cover developments as they emerge.
The Kia Center previously hosted Survivor Series in November 2020 with Camping World Stadium playing host to WrestleMania 24 and 33 in 2008 (as the Citrus Bowl) and 2017 respectively.
