London WWE WrestleMania Plans Update

London WWE WrestleMania Plans Update WWE/PA Wire

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has once again expressed his desire for England’s capital to host WWE WrestleMania in the future.

In July 2024, Sadiq Khan met with WWE President Nick Khan and Chief Content Officer Triple H to discuss London potentially becoming the first international city to host WrestleMania.

Since then Khan has reiterated his determination to bringing WWE’s biggest event to London, however, there has been no update on if or when fans can expect this to happen.

Following WWE recently pulling next year’s WrestleMania 42 event from New Orleans, Khan spoke with CNBC’s Tania Bryer and once again pitched the idea of hosting the event – mentioning Triple H directly.

Khan said:

“I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London, Triple H if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania to come to London.”

“If WrestleMania came to London, my message to the team there is that we wouldn’t just have a great weekend, we’d have a festival, of you know, legends in WrestleMania coming to London, current stars, but also future stars as a well, it will open a completely new market for them as well.

“I think the potential has not been reached in terms of WrestleMania. We are the sporting capital in my view, of the world. And if WrestleMania wants to expand, the obvious place to come is London.”

While London was initially speculated to be in the running to potentially host WrestleMania 42, it has since been reported that the two-night event will be heading to Las Vegas for the second year running.

This has yet to be confirmed by WWE at the time of writing, but we will provide updates on WrestleMania 42 and London’s chances of hosting the event as more news becomes available.
